# 3 Paradigm-A

“his inward subjective states are the only true reality”

The universe is … a story, an ongoing creative emergent event.
Brian Swimme

Most of us would be shocked to learn that the myriad problems humanity is facing today are not problems at all but merely symptoms of ONE underlying reality. That underlying reality as Brian Swimme identified in the quote above is that the story we are telling ourselves is not true. The true story, the real story of where we are is what Simple Reality calls Paradigm-A (P-A).

“We are living in an illusory context, a false narrative—we don’t know where we are. And since that false narrative drives human behavior, we cannot change human behavior in the context of the current worldview or narrative. Changing that narrative to be more in alignment with ultimate Reality is the solution to the one basic, fundamental problem in America [and the Global Village] and we are running out of time to address it.”[i]

Insight # 3 comes to us from Thomas Troward (1847-1916) a judge in British-administered India at the turn of the century, and an author who influenced the New Thought movement and mystic Christianity. Troward believed that reality, what we call Paradigm-A, is not “out there.”

“The spiritual kingdom is within us, and as we realize it there so it becomes to us a reality. It is the unvarying law of the subjective life that ‘as a man thinketh in his heart so is he,’ that is to say, his inward subjective states are the only true reality, and what we call external realities are only their objective correspondences.”[ii]
