#22 Beliefs

“fully comprehend your power in the present”

Thomas Troward says that the “basis of all healing is a change in belief.”[i]  And in Simple Reality we believe the most important core belief relates to the paradigm that we choose—our worldview. What is the story we tell ourselves over and over until we believe it? What story were we born into and never questioned or examined?

Only a worldview of Oneness will empower us to transcend the illusions that drive our fear. “People change their minds all the time, even about very important matters. It’s just hard to do when the stakes are high. That’s why marshalling data and making rational arguments won’t work. Whether you’re changing your own mind or someone else’s, the key is emotional, persuasive storytelling.”[ii]

Seth helps us understand that we have the power and opportunity to change our beliefs and circumstances. “You must understand that basically time is simultaneous. Your beliefs, thoughts and feelings [emotions] are instantly materialized physically. Their earthly reality occurs simultaneously with their inception but in the world of time, lapses between appear to occur. … ‘At once’ does not imply a finished state of perfection nor a cosmic situation in which all things have been done, for all things are still happening. You are still happening—but both present and future selves; and your past self is still undergoing what you think is done. Moreover, it is experiencing events that you do not recall, that your linear-attuned consciousness cannot perceive on that level.”[iii]

Insight # 22 comes from Seth who is a “disembodied personality” (not present in the material world of form). He was “channeled” by author Jane Roberts beginning in 1963. Seth’s insights are profound not because of where they come from but because of their intrinsic truth.

“You are not at the mercy of the past, or of previous convictions, unless you believe that you are. If you fully comprehend your power in the present, you will realize that action at that point also alters the past, its beliefs and your reactions.”[iv]

The truth of that insight will resonate with the inner wisdom of anyone in the process of Transcendence.
