Dialectic

The dictionary definition of dialectic is: the Hegelian process of change whereby an ideational entity, a thesis, is transformed into its opposite, an antithesis, and preserved and fulfilled by it, the combination of the two being resolved in a higher form of truth, a synthesis.

This is the typical folly in thinking that the intellect using analysis, constructs, models and yes, a synthesis, based on these processes will lead to Truth. Synthesis is not transcendence nor the paradigm shift.

Philosophy is worse than useless because it can cause us to believe that the intellect can address profound problems when in fact Truth and Beauty are beyond the purview of the intellect and it then acts as a barrier to an experience of Simple Reality.
